CIP Monthly Status Report – January 2018

Digester Tanks at the Regional Wastewater Facility
In January, 20 CIP projects progressed through various stages. Three projects successfully moved through stage gate approval: Storm Drain System Improvements, Filter Rehabilitation and Cogeneration Facility.

Alternatives analysis continued on the Aeration Tanks Rehabilitation, Facility-wide Water Systems Improvements, Fire Life Safety Upgrades and HVAC Improvements projects. Conceptual design continued on the Nitrification Clarifiers Rehabilitation Project. Detailed design progressed on the Blower Improvements Project. The Cogeneration Facility Project team continued to develop the detailed design. The Digested Sludge Dewatering Project team continued work on the Project Definition Report. San José (City) continued evaluating proposals received for design-build services for the Headworks Improvements and New Headworks projects. The Advanced Facility Control & Meter Replacement Project team advertised the construction contract and held a pre-bid meeting.

Construction continued on Construction-Enabling Improvements, Headworks Critical Improvements, Iron Salt Feed Station, Plant Instrument Air System Upgrade, and Digester and Thickener Facilities Upgrade.

The City Council and Treatment Plant Advisory Committee approved staff’s recommendation to amend an existing Master Services Agreement for special inspection and materials testing services for continued support on the Digester and Thickener Facilities Upgrade Project.
