April was National Volunteer Month and the Department of Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services recognized volunteers with a celebration at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo. Over 400 volunteers enjoyed Happy Hollow’s zoo animals, rides and puppet shows as well as a picnic dinner on April 25. Councilmembers thanked all the volunteers and provided special awards to those that went above and beyond. Volunteers help make PRNS programs a success by contributing over $4.9 million in hours to beautify parks, centers, and neighborhoods.
